Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

California Brewery Tourism wants everyone to be able to discover the stories, places and people behind California’s breweries. We are committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.

Standard we follow

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

What we have done

• Semantic page structure, with one main heading per page, headings in order, and labelled navigation regions.
• A “Skip to main content” link and a visible focus indicator on every link, button and form field.
• Full keyboard operation, including the zoom and pan controls on the brewery map.
• Text and interface colours checked against WCAG contrast ratios.
• Text alternatives for meaningful images, including a written summary of the brewery map data.
• Layouts that reflow on small screens and at 200% zoom, and reduced animation for visitors who prefer reduced motion.
• Form fields with visible labels, and errors described in text rather than by colour alone.
• We do not use accessibility overlay widgets; we build accessibility into the site itself.

Known limitations

• Brewery map. The current map is a detailed static image. Its data is summarised in text on the map page, and the interactive platform now in development is being designed to be accessible from the start. If you need the underlying data in another format, write to us.
• Third-party services. Donations are made on pages hosted by Givebutter, and contact-form messages are delivered by FormSubmit. We do not control those services. If you have trouble using them, you can give by check or reach us directly by email, and we will help.
